As it's under the Don't heading I would presume so

800 x 600 is perfectly acceptable for posting images, and as Kemp said if it doesn't provide enough detail then simply link to the larger ones. We just need to be mindful that not everyone here (guests browsing the site included) may not have a broadband connection.
