Anyone got a good config I can use?
My got fubared on a french server (forgot to reset to readonly after doin some editing)
I dont want to turn off anything noticeable as it runs above 100fps pretty much all the time with everything high
I'm going into competitive gaming at the moment and it makes reg etc. even more needed so hit reg would be my priority
Thanksss

I'd just edit your netcode settings as this is what will give you the reg.
Add / amend these lines in your cfg:
cl_cmdbackup 2
cl_interp 0.01
cl_interpolate 1
cl_lagcomp_errorcheck 1
cl_lagcompensation 1
cl_smooth 1
I'd then add amend the following (note I've given you a few combinations as I tweak mine depending on the server).
My normal rates:
cl_cmdrate "99"
cl_updaterate "99"
rate "20000"
Rates that seem to reg well:
cl_cmdrate "100"
cl_updaterate "101"
rate "25000"
Lower rates (good for foreign servers):
cl_cmdrate "80"
cl_updaterate "80"
rate "20000"
HTH

soz this is late, but something else to bare in mind is higher fps = better reg, i have my res on 720x400 i think, and although it doest look the best, u cant argue with 150-200 fps on all maps

FPS shouldn't make any difference on reg, FPS is purely graphics and reg is purely connection based. Isn't it?
I've found anything above 100fps is meaningless, 60fps I can notice a difference even though they say this is the fastest your eyes can pick up the images. Any evidence for this oxo?
Providing you get zero choke/loss your reg should be fine, note, other players connection rates will have as much of an influence on reg as your own.

omg again, i agree with oxo , even in call of duty 2 250 FPS is Clanbase max allowed bfore it was 333 but you could exploit some bugs , 250 fps makes a big differnces from 100 in reg , jumping heights and how fast the gun shoot AND PLS DONT CONTRADICT ME WITH stupid stuff of how much your eyes see its not that counts

I don't doubt it, don't really play cs/cod anymore.

I never said anyone was talking rubbish, or that I was speaking the gospel so please don't use caps. There is no need. I just don't see how fps and reg are linked. I'm genuinely interested as to why, can you guys provide any links to sources that discuss this?

your pc uploads 1 packet per frame, 30fps would be the same as having cl_updaterate 30. obviously the improvement will lessen after 100 fps but it will still have a positive effect which i have and can notice easily.
also the interpolation commands have changed to cl_interp_ratio, google it for a proper explanation.

Thanks guys, this is very interesting. When I used to play cs competitively I couldn't run higher than about 100fps but I can easily now, as the game is so old I'll have to try this out.
I used to limqareb, long time ago
