Possibly, altho the security 'should' be inherently better than windows as it is based on unix.

There are a few viruses etc on osx atm, but most of them are minor and have been fixed quickly.

I guess your viewpoint on it differs with how you see hackers/virus makers (as in why they do it).

I doubt the uprising of viruses or spyware would grow on osx as much as some would believe.

Look how easy it is to infect a windows system with a rootkit, in some cases it's a matter of installing a service/driver. Something which most windows machines wouldn't even question. Especially as they are initialised by windows components.

I don't think everyone would get on with or respect osx tho tbh.

They are basicaly saying what ive been saying, just wait till certain things are ironed out and full support is availible. I dont believe you should switch over to a Mac just cause of this though, which is what i disagree with. XP is still good, so i say just wait then Vista should rock your condom off.

Most of the new features in vista are from osx tho

Gonna w8 a whole while myself, atleast til sp1, until I see it as the main OS for my pcs. One will have it installed as a goof to see what`s going on.

Not going to be seeing it @ work until atleast 2008, XP is still providing issues, but they don`t condone a service level until it`s neigh-on 99% solid. Hence their XP ~feels~ just about SP2 and a bit atm. Each time a progression is made, new bulletins about faults and issues flood in via our emails so that we`re aware of them. (this is XP just past sp2) - bit different to using it at home I guess. Hell - we won`t see ie7 for months yet.

OSX is gonna take some real prizing into the shoes of an x86 computer, there are basic things that the OS is based on that 68k native code can do that the x86 still "emulates", I`m sure they`re working hard on that. Big step backwards again imo, going with the money and not progress.
