Logitech G105, Any good?

The MW3 version of the Logitech G105 for only £27, I would obviously get rid of the MW3 logo as I hate tacky peripherals but from what I hear its a pretty good keyboard, so what im wondering is if any of you have used it and what you thought it?

Thanks :)

I don't really like the look of the G11 tbh, I prefer all black keyboards, and tbh I doubt I will use the G keys that much, I have a £4 keyboard at the moment and really if it wasn't for the fact that I had money spear I would be fine with this :L

A friend of mine has just bought the G105. It's good as far as membrane keyboards go...
I'd probably try and save up more and get something mechanical though.

The backlighting of the G105 is pretty poor tbh. The room has to be pretty dark for you to be able to see it really.

Would it be at all possible for you to briefly what is better about a mechanical keyboard? I know that key presses have more of a feel but is it really worth all that extra money?

They do feel a lot better IMO.
Also more responsive, and you can put down as many keys as you like and it will register them all - probably won't bother you a great deal though.

The way I see it is you use your keyboard every day, and probably for a number of years. Spending £70 odd for a nicer experience gaming and typing is just worth it to me. I do now hate to use membrane keys. They just feel so dull to me.

I decided to spend the £30 I had spear on a new headset, I have the cpu and motherboard I want now though so next time I have some spear money it will be going towards a new keyboard :)

Mechanical keyboards are cool and feel better when typing on them. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that makes them worth their hefty price tag. Keyboard purists (yes they're out there) swear by them and look down their pointy noses at anybody that doesn't have a $200 mechanical board. A keyboard is a keyboard pretty much and you wont snipe any faster or any more accurately with a $200 top end mechanical than you will with a $20 generic Walmart board.

Now that being said, mechanical boards are a lot more "fun" to type on and so just for the "cool new toy" aspect of them, it is kinda worth it. If you've got other things you need to spend the money on then don't bother with an expensive keyboard but if you've got some extra lying around and would like a "cool new toy" then by all means pick one up.

You could always check out the cheap mechanicals that Aria are doing at the moment. They're not Cherry, but it would probably be a step in the right direction.
I still type/game on the chiclet keyboard that I got for my iMac about 3 years ago. For me, when it comes to gaming, a good mouse is more important than the keyboard.
