What is up with S939 Boards!

I'm looking for a S939 (NON-PCIE) board to couple with a 3500+ for a mate, and so far the offerings look pretty shit.

I think i've managed to narrow it down to two, but if you have any suggestions, let me know..

Asus A8V Deluxe (K8T800PRO)

* Goes up to 300mhz fsb

* Supplies 2.8v vdimm

* Supplies 1.55v-1.80v vcore

EPoX EP-9NDA3+ (NF3)

* Goes up to 400mhz fsb :eek:

* Supplies 2.8v vdimm (but apparently only supplies 2.6v max) :eek:

* Supplies 1.55v-1.70v vcore

MSI K8N Neo2 (NF3)

* Goes up to 300mhz fsb

* Supplies 2.85v vdimm

* Supplies 1.55v-1.85v vcore

So far i'm considering the MSI the most, however i don't really think much of MSI as a company....

I'd get the MSI, it will be a great board if it isn't DOA :)

The clear choice XMS.... And who told u that it only supplies 2.6? I ran this board w/o a volt mod at 2.8 and it supplied every bit of that. Then I raped it with a volt mod and cranked it up to 3.5 :D lol
 
Just remember... I hit 310fsb on air BEFORE the volt mod (which didn't help, rofl) and was rockin 2.79ghz big pimpin' style. Thx EPoX for making the best boards EVAR!!! :D :worship:

Yeah well I won't get too excited just yet, but when I'm building my new rig....then I'll deffo look into this option. Maybe the fellers at jabtech will ship it for me? We'll see. For now, its on to OC'ing this rig!! :cool:

Yeah you may be able to talk JT into sending it to you for less than I could do... Definately a possibility. Cheers mate! :beerchug:
 
my vote goes for MSI Neo2 for an NF3 platform . You can use it with pretty much any ram . It loves BH5 with the right bios and the ocz ddr booster goes all the way upto 4 V on it ( i.e. its circuits can handle the load ) . Great bios and insanely easy board to overclock.

If you want a killer board right now on the market MSI has my vote . Or you could wait for the DFI NF3 939 board . Should be coming soon ( within a month or so ) .

Just remember one thing , DO NOT pair up the Neo2 with an Antec power supply . There are about 80% chances that either the psu will kill your board or vice versa. OCZ and Enermax seem to be the most compatible with that board.
 
I knew you'd push me into the epox fragtek ;)

Do you know if they work with the OCZ DDR Boosters? i might just use one of those rather than voiding warrenty with a voltmod.

No they aren't compatible, you'll blow the board if you try and use one... Put some TCCD on it and you won't need a voltage boost. I take it you're trying to use BH-5 or UTT?
 
the newer tccds are needing more volts to clock higher. And the Epox does have a problem with maintaining Vdimms over 2.7V . But if ur a modder for mobos then epox is one of the easiest boards to mod after the Gigabyte boards.

Good thing about the MSI board is that VTT tracks automatically , so even if you give ur ram 4V using the booster , the Vtt will adjust to it , making it a lost easier to get more Vdimm .

The "newer" TCCD's? I have the latest TCCD's available which were made right before the discontinuation of them and they only require 2.8v to run at max potential.
