It sounds to me like the mobo is dieing, cause my audio has gone down now, and im experiencing suddern crashes :S Again, problem is, i cant aford to upgrade to a AM3 or i3, my computer is easily 8 years old with upgrades (ive upgraded the HDD, PSU, GC, optical and cooling since getting it, ive even hit the limit for my RAM capacity)

what about the psu. how old is it? what wattage? can you try a different one

The PSU has recently been upgraded(under a year old) it a modular Coolermaster 620W. More than enough to handle the single card, i would be using the 6 pin adapters otherwise(which i dont agree with XD)

Ive decided to try and get £100 together and get a AM3 duel core 3.0Ghz CPU with motherboard and 2GB of DDr3 ram off dabs.com as an offer. Its not a massive upgrade, but it will allow me to upgrade the CPU, RAM and motherboard slowly, instead of it being obsolete and needing to replace everything.
