950 was £205 at Aria yesterday.. put an order on it from my phone the moment I saw EDIT: It still is!

I dunno about the Foxconn tbh but it doesn't really matter as the 950 is a really good cpu at stock. And, hey! Whalecum to tha new generation! Progress - 940 to 950 albeit completely different CPUs What's happening to the old rig?

Oh stop blubbering !

Well, I found one of these.

Ordered.

I really truly can not believe just how astoundingly beautiful those are.

Will get the remaining Alienware chassis on Gumtree next week.

I got the core model because I have this enormous pile of Noctua fans

Old rig is being stripped. PSU I just realised yes, it has 18 amps on the 12v rail. However, there are no fewer than 5 rails. 470 will obviously carry over and stretch its legs in pastures new and board chip and ram will be sold, case too

Well, it's able to take a 950 to 4.8ghz so I guess it's safe to assume the power stages work as they should

Going to be a bit of a PITA getting the bios flashed over but ho hum. Darn good thing I have that 250 as I almost gave it away.

The mobo and case have shipped and I hope they will be here tomorrow. The memory has also shipped but I think the tight buggers have sent that second class unrecorded. If so they'll feel my wrath in the Amazon feedback section. Reminder as to why you should always use a credit card and not a debit card (entire PC thus far has been with a mastercard).

Getting excited now. It's still not really sunk in that I have a computer of this magnitude on order ! I'll start a build thread once the stuff starts coming in

I think the only things left to ship are the fans I ordered and the CPU itself. Hoping to get that stuff here before the ruddy snow comes back
