Sometimes, you just have to let the inner nerd shine through http://forum.overclock3d.net/images/smilies/oldemoticons/biggrin.gif.

It's even better when you see it in motion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-of4i_ney5k) http://forum.overclock3d.net/images/smilies/oldemoticons/wink.gif.

Yup, just a screensaver. It's called "System 47", a simulation of the LCARS computer interface from Star Trek TNG and Voyager. You can get it from www.mewho.com (http://www.mewho.com).

Cool, doesn't look they have it for win 7 yet. I wonder If I can use it in compat mode.

Well it was working great for awhile. Then it started having an Error when it would try to kick on the screen saver. Error could not find Macromedia flash. Which is odd because I have the latest version of Adobe Flash and I double checked. Weird! Not really worth the time, I just turned off the screen saver lol. A few people in the house did ask me about it as they caught a glimpse of it working.

Just a quick update on the current desk.

Also a quick vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-k4spJfte0) of the screens, one running my new favourite screensaver. The video description also has all the details of my setup or you can view the same details in my DeviantART gallery.

what does the ambient light do. does that help take the strain off the eyes or is it just there to look B.A.

One thing I find awkward about the Asus screen (middle), is that it's so damn bright! I know I can turn it down but if I do it's a bit too dark in 3D mode. The light behind the screens gives your eyes a kind of 'background' level of illumination to adjust to, so the screen isn't as blinding, and the spill lights up the desk well enough to use it with the main light off. It also means I can get up and walk away from the desk without falling over stuff that I wouldn't normally be able to see, because my pupils were practically closed up.

That and it does look cool http://forum.overclock3d.net/images/smilies/oldemoticons/cool.gif.

Wow cool setup. 3 rigs and 3 screens = epic stuff. Cool idea the backlighting, especially the not falling over stuff aspect is very practical. Could use that
